Maruti Suzuki’s Brezza emerged as India’s best-selling car, with 17,336 units dispatched in December 2024! The SUV overtook the likes of Swift, Ertiga, and Wagon R to emerge as the Number 1 selling car of December 2024. However, the Top 5 models sold in Dec’24 were above the 15k mark and the difference was razor thin between all. Interestingly the Top 4 cars were from Maruti and of different body styles (SUV, Hatchback, Sedan & MUV).
7 out of the Top 10 cars were UVs (Utility Vehicles) and the list was dominated by 6 SUVs (Sports Utility Vehicles)! While Brezza was the best-selling SUV – Punch, Nexon, Creta, Scorpio and Fronx fared in the Top 10. The craze for SUVs is ever-increasing and the list is going to widen with the upcoming launches – Skoda Kylaq, Kia Syros, etc.
