Maruti Baleno emerged as India’s best-selling car for December 2025 by ousting Tata Nexon, which was in the top slot for the past three consecutive months. It is notable that 9 out of the Top 10 selling cars are sub-4m models and benefited the most from the GST reduction. Also, 3 Hatchbacks fared in the Top 10 list, which has been a significant increase. Maruti’s Fronx stood second in the list and was just 1,402 units short of its sibling Baleno. The Baleno platform (Baleno+Glanza+Fronx+Taisor) combinedly recorded dispatches of 53,722 units in Dec’25!
Tata’s Nexon continues to fare well and ranked third in Dec’25. The model sold almost 43% higher than the same period last year. No Hyundai model was able to list in the Top 10 cars, and the Creta ranked 11th. However, Creta was the best-selling mid-SUV and performed much better than the likes of Grand Vitara, Hyryder, Victoris, etc.
