Oye! Rickshaw launches battery swapping platform: 10,000 lithium-ion batteries to be deployed.
The startup, that has started a battery swapping project in Dec 2020, claimed to have one lakh swap kilometers in under 3 months.
On 03 March 2021, Wednesday, the company announced its target of swapping 10000 lithium-ion batteries by the end of 2021.
Its founder, Mr.Mohit Sharma said “By introducing swapping, we are significantly reducing downtime of our e-rickshaws and thus adding more commute hours for customers and more money into the pockets of our driver-partners. This marks the beginning of a journey towards becoming a major connected electric vehicle player focused on mass micro-mobility.”
As per company sources, against traditional charging time of 8-10 hours, affecting monetizing the charging hours too, swapping will lead to zero downtime for the users.
