India’s sedan market showed healthy growth in February 2026, driven primarily by strong demand for compact sedans. According to the data, total sedan sales reached 35,919 units in February 2026, compared with 29,347 units in February 2025, representing a 22.4% year-on-year growth.
Despite the broader industry shift towards SUVs, sedans continue to maintain a steady presence in the Indian passenger vehicle market, particularly in the compact and mid-size segments.
Maruti Dzire Continues Unmatched Leadership

With this performance, Dzire captured a massive 53.8% share of the entire sedan segment, meaning more than one in every two sedans sold in India was a Dzire.
