Sonet was the only Compact SUV to cross 10k sales mark in November 2020. It not only was the best selling Compact SUV for the month but also contributed to over 25% of the segment’s volumes!

Kia sold 11,417 units of Sonet last month and was followed by 9,265 units of Hyundai Venue and 7,838 units of Maruti Brezza.

Almost all OEMs now have a presence in this segment. The segment grew rapidly in Nov’20 owing to Sonet & Urban Cruiser volumes. Nissan is now pinning its hopes in this segment with its upcoming Magnite.

Maruti is definitely missing a diesel engine option now. The Diesel buyers do not have an option but to shy away from the Brezza.

Seems like Sonet has impacted Venue more than any other model in the segment. Venue’s volumes remained flat in Nov’20 v/s Nov’19.

The highlight was Mahindra XUV300’s volumes. The model recorded the highest YoY growth in segment! It even outsold Ford’s Ecosport in Nov’20. Mahindra had reduced the XUV300 prices by upto Rs.72,000 and the strategy seemed to have worked well for the model.
