The Indian MUV segment continued its strong run in May 2026, supported by sustained demand for practical 6- and 7-seater family vehicles. As per the data, the top MUVs together recorded 45,127 units in May 2026, compared to 36,633 units in May 2025 — registering a healthy 23.2% year-on-year growth.


The segment remained heavily dominated by Maruti Suzuki and Toyota, while Kia and Renault also posted strong growth.

  • Toyota Innova Hycross + Crysta ranked second with 10,325 units in May 2026, up from 8,882 units in May 2025. Innova range grew by 16.2% YoY and captured 22.9% segment share.

  • Kia Carens + Clavis took the third spot with 6,208 units in May 2026, against 4,524 units in May 2025. With 37.2% YoY growth, Kia’s MUV offering was among the strongest performers in the segment. It held a 13.8% segment share, benefiting from its feature-rich package, multiple powertrain choices and urban family appeal.

  • Maruti Suzuki XL6 ranked fourth with 3,770 units in May 2026, compared to 3,507 units in May 2025.

  • Toyota Rumion recorded 2,119 units in May 2026, up from 1,917 units in May 2025. Rumion grew by 10.5% YoY and accounted for 4.7% segment share.

  • Renault Triber sold 1,890 units in May 2026, compared to 1,411 units in May 2025. It registered an impressive 33.9% YoY growth and secured 4.2% segment share.

  • Maruti Suzuki Invicto sold 301 units, growing 35% YoY from 223 units in May 2025. It held a 0.7% share.

  • Toyota Vellfire, though niche in volume, recorded the highest YoY growth in the list. It sold 164 units in May 2026 against just 29 units last year, marking a massive 465.5% YoY growth. Its segment share stood at 0.4%.
