Maruti Suzuki’s Ertiga emerged as the best-selling car in India for September 2024 with dispatches of 17,441 units! The MPV was significantly ahead of next in line Swift. The model has been faring well quite consistently and was also the second-best selling car of August 2024! Ertiga also recorded the highest YoY growth in the Top 10 models.
Hyundai’s Creta was the best-selling SUV and ranked third in overall for Sep’24 as well. It has a clear lead over other models in the segment (Grand Vitara, Seltos, etc). It even outsold the Sub-4m SUV models in Sep’24. Maruti’s Brezza followed closely for the fourth spot and registered volumes of 15,322 units.
Tata’s best-selling model Punch was India’s 8th best-selling car for Sep’24. Punch was the sole Tata model in the Top 10 and the sales of Nexon has dipped drastically. The drop in volumes can be attributed to ailing EV models performance (source) and extremely high stock at the dealership network.
