Kia Sonet becomes the highest selling Compact SUV within 12 days of its launch. Sonet was also Kia’s best selling car for September 2020!
Kia Motors India recorded 147% YoY growth with 18,676 unit overall sales in September 2020. While Sonet sold 9,266 units; the elder sibling Seltos sold an impressive 9,079 units too.
The made-in-India Kia Sonet is a crucial launch for the OEM and is betting big to be the Game Changer in the segment. The Sub-4m Compact SUV segment is already over-crowded and Kia has attempted to stand out by making the Sonet the most feature reach and having the highest number of engine/transmission options. The model was launched at an attractive Rs.6.71 Lakh price and had already crossed 25k bookings on the day of launch. The eager acceptance of Sonet indicates recovery of demand in the market and has also been pushed by the upcoming festive season. With Two SUVs in the portfolio, Kia is eyeing dominance in both Mid-SUVs and Compact-SUVs categories.
