Toyota India Sales Analysis – October 2020

Urban Cruiser became Toyota’s 2nd Best Selling car in its first month of dispatches. Almost 3,006 units were dispatched in Oct’20 and contributed to over 24% of Toyota India’s volumes.

Toyota outsold the likes of Renault & Honda to become India’s 6th best selling OEM for October 2020.   1. Even with the launch of Urban Cruiser; Toyota’s overall sales growth was just 4% YoY (against Industry YoY growth of 17.5%).

  2. Innova Crysta was the best selling Toyota of Oct’20. However; the model registered a degrowth of -12% YoY.

  3. Glanza has emerged as the savior for Toyota brand and around 3k units were shipped to dealers in Oct’20. The sales grew 11% YoY & 16% MoM.

  4. Fortuner still impresses us with its sales. While Innova struggled; Fortuner recorded 13% YoY growth and 41% MoM growth! Elections effect?

  5. No one expected Vellfire to be the model to record the highest YoY & MoM growth!
