The Top 25 Selling Cars constituted over 78% of the cars sold in April 2024. It had 9 models from Maruti, 4 from Tata, Hyundai and Mahindra each, 3 from Kia, and 1 from Toyota. Regarding volumes, Maruti Suzuki models contributed over 45 percent to the Top 25!
Tata Punch retained India’s best-selling car tag for April 2024 and recorded dispatches of over 19k units! It is the second month in succession that a Non-Maruti tops the sales chart. The model is fiercely being promoted in the current edition of the IPL and the EV sales seem to have gained considerable traction to push the volumes up.
Maruti’s Wagon R listed second in the list with sales of over 17.8k units and was followed by Brezza. It is interesting to see a steady rise in sales of the compact sedan Dzire – an indicator of growing Taxi/Yellow board vehicles demand. Hyundai’s Creta was the best-selling Mid SUV of April 2024 and continues its dominance.
