India’s 7-seater vehicle segment continued its strong growth trajectory in April 2026, driven by rising demand for spacious family vehicles, SUVs and MPVs. The segment registered total sales of 84,259 units, recording a healthy 15.2% YoY growth compared to April 2025.


Leading the charts once again was the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, while Mahindra continued to dominate the SUV side of the segment with the Scorpio, Bolero and XUV700 lineup. Toyota’s Innova range also maintained strong momentum, highlighting the continued popularity of premium MPVs in India.

  • The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga emerged as India’s best-selling 7-seater vehicle in April 2026 with sales of 19,063 units, posting a strong 20.8% YoY growth. Ertiga commanded a dominant 22.6% segment share, reinforcing its position as the preferred MPV for Indian families and fleet buyers alike.

  • Mahindra Scorpio secured the second spot with 14,719 units sold in April 2026. However, the SUV recorded a marginal 5.2% YoY decline. Despite the drop, Scorpio maintained a solid 17.5% market share thanks to the combined popularity of the Scorpio Classic and Scorpio-N variants.

  • The combined sales of the Toyota Innova Hycross and Toyota Innova Crysta stood at 9,630 units, registering an impressive 25.1% YoY growth. The Innova lineup held an 11.4% segment share, remaining the benchmark in the premium MPV category.

  • The Mahindra Bolero posted sales of 8,917 units, growing by 6.4% YoY. Meanwhile, the Mahindra XUV700 and XUV7XO lineup recorded 8,630 units, registering a strong 26.7% YoY growth.
