SUVs continue to dominate EV demand, with models like Punch EV, Nexon EV, Harrier EV, and XUV range leading volumes. Fresh launches such as eVitara, Windsor, and XEV lineup significantly influenced growth, showing how product freshness is key in EV adoption. March saw peak dispatches due to fiscal year-end targets, discounts, and an anticipated price hike. While entry EVs exist, growth is increasingly visible in the ₹12–20 lakh SUV segment, balancing affordability and range.
March 2026 stands out as a milestone month for India’s EV ecosystem, with record dispatches, rising penetration, and strong model-level performances. The momentum from March is likely to set the tone for FY2027, with more launches, deeper competition, and faster adoption ahead.
